Terms and conditions

1. Scope

These terms and conditions apply to services provided by StartIT Bildung, in particular children’s workshops, project days, parent evenings, teacher training, accompanying materials and multi-part school programmes. Any differing agreement in a quote or order confirmation takes precedence over these terms.

2. Quotes and conclusion of contract

Information on the website and non-binding initial discussions do not constitute a binding offer. A contract is concluded once a quote or order confirmation has been accepted by both parties in writing or by email.

The specific service, number of classes, dates, venue, prices and any additional costs are set out in the relevant quote.

3. Delivery and safeguarding framework

• One facilitator works with no more than one class at a time.
• A responsible teacher or specialist remains in the room during children’s workshops.
• Parent evenings and teacher training are separate formats.
• Content is age-appropriate and serves education and prevention, not individual case advice or crisis intervention.
• If there are signs of an acute risk, the responsible institution’s protection and reporting procedures apply.

4. Cooperation by the commissioning institution

The institution provides suitable rooms, agreed technology, access to the venue and required supervision in good time. It informs StartIT about the age group, class size and organisational requirements without disclosing unnecessary identifying or sensitive data about individual children.

Photography, video or audio recording during a session is permitted only with StartIT’s prior written consent and in compliance with the personal rights of everyone involved.

5. Prices and payment

All prices are in Swiss francs. The quote states whether taxes, travel, materials or other incidental costs are included. Unless agreed otherwise, invoices are payable in full within 30 days of the invoice date.

6. Rescheduling and cancellation

Changes of date should be communicated as early as possible. Unless the quote states otherwise, the following charges apply when the commissioning institution cancels:

• up to 21 calendar days before the date: no charge,
• 20 to 8 calendar days before the date: 50 per cent of the agreed fee,
• 7 or fewer calendar days before the date, or non-attendance: 100 per cent of the agreed fee.

Non-cancellable third-party costs already incurred may be charged additionally. Where possible, StartIT offers an alternative date.

7. Cancellation by StartIT and force majeure

If a session cannot take place due to illness, accident, force majeure, an official order or a comparable unforeseeable event, StartIT will inform the institution as quickly as possible. The parties will first seek an alternative date. If this is not possible, payments already made for services not delivered will be refunded. Further claims are excluded to the extent permitted by law.

8. Materials and rights of use

Training concepts, presentations, worksheets, characters and other materials remain the intellectual property of StartIT or the named rights holders. The institution may use provided materials only within the agreed internal scope. Distribution, publication, editing or commercial use requires prior written consent.

9. Liability

StartIT delivers its services with care and to the best of its knowledge. Media prevention can reduce risks but cannot guarantee complete protection against every digital incident. Liability is governed by mandatory Swiss law. To the extent permitted by law, liability for slight negligence, indirect loss and consequential loss is excluded.

10. Privacy

The processing of personal data is governed by our privacy notice. Children’s names, private chats, passwords, abuse details or other identifying child data must not be sent through website forms or ordinary email.

11. Final provisions

Swiss law applies. Mandatory statutory places of jurisdiction remain reserved. If any provision of these terms is or becomes invalid, the remaining provisions remain effective. Amendments and additions must be made in text form.
